The Palazzo was built in a late baroque style, from the rooftop, decorated with antique statues and terracotta vases (a novelty during the Renaissance in Florence) to the spectacular U-shaped courtyard, opening towards the river. It took half a century for the building to be completed, and the magnificent paintings decorating the Palace were done between 1692 and 1700, and were being commissioned to several well-known artists of one of the best periods in the Florentine art history.
